The quiet at the
end of the track.
Bespoke off-grid cabins, drawn and raised by hand in Britain
Wildwood is a small workshop building a handful of timber huts a year. We draw each one around its site, mill the frame ourselves and raise it by hand — no catalogue, no shortcuts. Just a considered building, made to be handed down.

Made slowly,
on purpose.
There is no production line here. Frames are cut by hand, joints are pinned rather than screwed, and every board is placed by the person who shaped it. Slower to build, and made to outlast the people who commission it.

Timber with
a long memory.
We build in cedar and larch that silver gracefully, insulate in wool, and finish in oils that feed the grain rather than seal it. Everything we touch is chosen to settle into the landscape over decades, not to fight it.
Enquire →After dark
Woodsmoke, and
nowhere to be.
Draw the latch, feed the stove, and let the valley go dark around you. No signal, no schedule — only the weather, the fire and the long, unhurried evening you came for.
The range
Four ways to begin.
Each model is a starting point, drawn to order and shaped around your land. Choose a footprint; we will take it from there.
A single, quiet room for a bunk, a desk and a wood stove. The whole world reduced to a window and a kettle.
By hand
Eight commissions
a year.
We cap our output on purpose. Fewer huts, more hours in each — the only way we know to keep the work honest and the waiting worth it.
Said of us
“A rare thing — architecture that knows exactly when to stay quiet.”
The Local Project
“Wildwood have made the backcountry hut feel like an heirloom.”
Design Anthology
“Small in footprint, unmistakably serious in intent.”

Responsibility
Lighter on the land.
We mill less than we plant, build for a fifty-year life, and carry out everything we carry in. A hut should leave its site quieter and greener than it found it.
